The University of Wollongong Master of Engineering (Environmental) provides graduate and science engineers with a two-year degree program with specialized knowledge and technical skills in environmental engineering and advanced science. The program focuses on environmental technology and management of areas of importance in water supply, wastewater management, cleaner production and waste management, site repair, air and noise pollution control, sustainable energy services. You will develop the ability to design, model and analyze engineering solutions related to environmental protection leading to sustainable development. It will also develop the capacity to assess environmental risk and manage the environmental aspects of various industries.
Environmental engineering affects pure technology research that has as little or no effect on the environment as possible. An environmental engineer participates in research and development of alternative energy sources, recycling water, treating waste, and recycling. Environmental engineering has also focused on protecting public health, thus contributing to sustainable development. The sub-fields of environmental engineering include: geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering. As a broad field of study, environmental engineering is related to alternatives, and, such as: chemistry, biology, mathematics, technology, geography, social and economic safety.
