Quantitative corporate finance and investment deals with financial choices made by organizations regarding funding sources and capital structures. Short-term decisions mainly deal with working capital management of short-term assets and liabilities whereas the choice and type of corporate investments, sources of equity or debt funding and financial risk management are part of long-term decisions. A degree in quantitative corporate finance and investments helps students learn the skill of choosing the best investment strategy for an organization. In addition, students will be able to have a clear insight of financial sector along with development of quantitative skills. It is a 192-credit course covering a span of four years. Under the umbrella of this program, UOW offers courses like Multivariate and Vector Calculus, Random Variables and Estimation, Generalized Linear Models, Differential Equations: Analysis and Applications, etc. Electives include Financial Accounting, Taxation, Database Systems, Problem Solving, Object Oriented Design and Programming, etc. The program is very detailed and thorough covering all aspects of quantitative finance. The degree of UOW prepares students for the diverse job market. After completion of program, students may pursue their career as bankers, HR managers, investment consultants, event organizers, business advisors and market researchers.
