The Bachelor of Medical and Radiation Physics Advanced degree is designed to produce graduates with the essential skills needed to get a job in radiation oncology and nuclear medicine departments, institutions of higher learning or industry at the University of Wollongong. Advanced Medical and Radiation Physics degree holders have a strong background in physics and the theory, practice and program in radiation required to obtain work in hospitals, research centers or related industries. There is also a greater focus on cross-border research and development opportunities throughout the degree. Professional medical professionals from major NSW hospitals will deliver keynote presentations and the work done and guide the work of the thesis. Students will find that they will easily travel to work and / or graduate work in this special area.
The year of the University of Wollongong Honors is completely devoted to the topics of Medical Physics. It consists of a large part of a 24-point research project that includes research, conducted in partnership with community, local, state or federal agencies. This research project is supported by three specialized studies focusing on the main functions of the Medical Radiation Physicist: Medical Imaging; Nuclear Tree; Radiobiology and radiation protection. Courses are held by the Center for Radiation Physics achievements within the Faculty's School of Physics. You will benefit from a strong network of collaborative research and development capabilities that you have with domestic and international companies and leading medical radiation centers.
You will study the interaction of radiation, dosimetry, diagnostic equipment and instruments related to medical physics, health physics, nuclear physics, radiation safety, and accelerator and Reactor physics.
