Technology can only develop if one creates the necessary tools to turn ideas into reality. Graduates work everywhere, from mining, repairing materials, and doing aerospace to aeronautics and biotechnology. Many are researchers, creating new materials such as superconductors and nanoparticles.
There are many opportunities for materials engineering, as the field supports all engineering branches. Materials engineers play a major role in reducing the environmental impact of recycling, redesigning waste minimization processes, and producing high-quality materials for new energy technologies. Materials engineers have used scientific and engineering knowledge to turn raw materials into finished products: everything from materials and consumer goods to advanced electronic equipment and materials such as tissue and bionic eyes. They understand how the structure and properties of materials can be controlled by construction and operation. They design and select materials and processing techniques to suit a specific program.
The university offers leading engineering research center in Australia, based on long-standing partnership with domestic and multinational companies and research centers in Australia and abroad. The Australian Research Council has classified various financial studies as 'above the global standard', and university’s construction, manufacturing, research and technology engineering is 'above the world standard'. Professional members of university receive relevant and cutting-edge research in a variety of fields that focus on providing innovative solutions to global problems.
